Covington Latin School is broadly engaged in a collaborative effort to ensure environmental appreciation, awareness and conservation within our community. In addition to environmental education within the curriculum, CLS service opportunities include multiple beautification and litter-removal projects, a prevalent recycling program and multiple used clothing and eletronic accessory drives each year.

The School offers an active recycling program of paper, plastic and aluminum in addition to working with Funding Factory, which recycles video games, consoles and accessories, inkjet and laser printing cartridges, used cell phones, digital cameras, laptops, PDAs, iPods®  and DVDs. Additionally, Covington Latin strongly supports reuse of books within the student body by facilitating a Book Day which creates a marketplace for students to purchase used books from their peers at a fraction of the cost of new editions.  Our cafeteria uses non-disposable dishes, flatware and drinkware and our HVAC system to heat and condition the air is state-of-the-art and energy efficient.
