Tuition Assistance
With an annual budget exceeding $200,000, Covington Latin’s commitment to tuition assistance is apparent. Latin School's tuition assistance application process is separate from the admissions process and admissions decisions are made without regard for a family’s ability to pay. Our ability to attract the best and the brightest students across socioeconomic lines and making a Latin education available to all, are the cornerstones of our tuition assistance philosophy. Latin School has a proud history of never turning a student away due to lack of ability to pay.
Merit-based Assistance
• Incoming students who score a 98% or 99% on the entrance exam qualify for the Regents’ Scholarship in the amount of $800.00.
• Continuing students are eligible for academic scholarships awarded at the fall Honors Assembly. Six scholarships are awarded in each grade level. These awards range from $300.00 to $600.00 and are made possible by the generous support of our business partners, APT, alumni and friends.
Need-based Assistance
• Latin School has a proud history of never turning a student away due to lack of ability to pay. To assess financial need, we require families to submit a Private School Aid Service (PSAS) application which are available either in our main office or online. Click here for the printable PDF version of the 2010-2011 PSAS. Applicants must also submit the first page of the most recent IRS 1040 form to PSAS.
• A $400.00 tuition credit may be obtained through students’ participation in our work study program; primarily light-duty after school jobs. Work study applications are available in the main office and must be returned to CLS along with the first page of the most recent IRS 1040 form. 30% of CLS students participate in work study.
Other forms of Assistance
• $400.00 tuition credits are offered for each additional sibling enrolled at CLS.
