I want to personally welcome you to Covington Latin School. Covington Latin is truly unique when compared to other schools throughout our region in that we have a specific mission set forth by the Bishop of the Diocese of Covington to serve academically gifted students. If you (or your student) are looking for a school that caters to the academic, social-emotional and spiritual needs of these gifted students, we are the place for you!
Our motto speaks of goodness, knowledge, and discipline. You will find all three present in the daily activities of our students. Take one step inside our building, and you can see knowledge being absorbed everywhere. From our classical curriculum to honors, AP, and dual credit classes, our students are enabled to flourish to their God-given potential. Goodness is abundant when students are shown how to treat one another as Christ would. Our motto isn’t just a statement above our entry. It’s who we are.
Our students have always been, and will continue to be, standouts in whatever field they pursue in the future. The foundation provided by CLS gives them the necessary tools to succeed. With a history of producing leaders for more than 100 years, we are preparing the next generation of industry leaders and community decision-makers. The community of Covington Latin is a close knit family. Unlike much larger schools, Covington Latin will always be a school where each person is known and valued. This is a safe space for students with exceptional capabilities to come together and grow in a supportive environment that will lead to the full realization of their capabilities that have been given by God.
We are wholeheartedly devoted to fulfilling the long standing tradition of the school rooted in Catholic teaching and classical school principles, while at the same time, preparing our students to be successful in the modern world at any university they may choose nationally or internationally. Our teachers are committed to the school and the students that they are here to serve. This highly-qualified staff receive special training to meet the needs of our specific and diverse students.
Finally, one of the things I am most excited about as I enter my first year as Head of School at Covington Latin is the recent affiliation with Thomas More University. This affiliation, which was initiated by Bishop Iffert, now provides CLS with access to opportunities and advantages that you will not find anywhere else in our region. Our CLS students will now have access to more curriculum options, which will only further their abilities for growth. There is so much more to come from this affiliation, and I encourage you to keep an eye and ear out for more information.
Covington Latin School is truly a different experience for every student that walks through our doors. The students that graduate from our institution greatly exceed the students from other schools that do not have the same dedication to excellence and the faith instilled through their time at Covington Latin.
