VIP Day Experience

The best way for your student to learn about Covington Latin is to be a Trojan for the day! Current 4th-8th graders are invited for a first-hand look into a typical day at our school. They will attend classes with a Covington Latin Student Host, eat lunch with new friends, and get the chance to tour the campus, meet teachers, and ask any questions.

All Shadow days start at 7:45 AM when your child will meet their student host, and end at 3 PM when your child will be back in the front office for pick up!

Top Tips for a Successful Shadow Day Visit

Ask questions. Don’t be afraid to ask too many questions; that’s how you learn more about CLS and how you fit in. You’ll also uncover exciting information about classes, friends, sports, traditions, and clubs.

Be yourself. Once you walk through our doors, you’re part of the CLS family. Introduce yourself to those you meet in class or chat with at lunch. You may meet someone who could be your friend or mentor.

It is okay if you don’t understand what’s happening in class. Your student host may be doing things you haven’t learned yet in class. Just soak it all in and participate if you know the answer.

Get to know your host. You and your host probably have many things in common! The more you get to know your host and their friends, the more familiar faces you will see in the halls, ready to say hello next year.

Have fun! This is the most important tip! Enjoy your time here, and start to see yourself as part of the Covington Latin community!
